Dr.  KN Padmakumar

Our director for Samskrita PrashikshaNam, Dr. Padmakumar Korattiyadath holds a Ph.D. in Sanskrit from Sri Shankara University, Kerala, India.  Prior to that, he obtained his Master’s Degree in Sanskrit from Kerala Varma College, Kerala.  He has also studied Hinduism, in a traditional Gurukulam setting in Kerala. 

Dr. Padmakumar is a Sanskrit enthusiastic who has played an active role in the revival of interest in Spoken Sanskrit in India, after it was left decimated by Colonialism, through teaching, writing, and advocacy for over forty years.   As Director of Training and Human Resource Management of Samskrita Bharati,  he has trained teachers across 42 centers in the United States and Canada on how to teach Sanskrit to adults, youth and children using a user-friendly method through which students learn to speak and enjoy Samskritam (Sanskrit).  Acharya has travelled throughout India to provide training and courses to full time Volunteers of Samskrita Bharati.

He has also developed curricula in Sanskrit, Teacher’s Guides, and authored children’s books that are currently in use widely. He has been a guest lecturer in Sanskrit in the USA, Canada, New Zealand, Fiji, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Dubai.  He has received several awards for his work in promoting Sanskrit through writing, recitation, teaching and publishing. He has a YouTube channel under the name (“Viswasamskritam”), and he conducts live classes on the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita in Sanskrit, as a service to the community.

Narmada Parikrama

Padmakumar Acharya has recently completed a Narmada Parikrama, and visited various Ashrams and pAThashAlA's surrounding the pious Reva.

During this, he visited Tilak Vaidik Vidyapeetham at Chichot, Madhyapradesh.  Here you can see his motivational speech for the students of Vidyapeetham in Samskritam.  He brings his enthusiasm, eloquence and fluent samskrita-ganga to inspire and motivate them further.
